Job Overview:

We are a forward-thinking organization providing comprehensive solutions to make buildings safer, more comfortable, and efficient.

Our technical writing team is comprised of over 60 writers at various experience levels, exceeding traditional boundaries by developing our own DocOps processes: authoring tooling, publishing platform, content management system, style guide, review/editing, illustration, and patent preparation.

The majority of our content is authored in DITA XML, but we also support other tools such as InDesign, Framemaker, and Madcap Flare.

We have a history of innovation within the company, having won innovation competitions and been granted several patents.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop content for business units supporting program releases under senior team member guidance
  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, product managers, and marketers worldwide
  • Author content in DITA XML and content management systems
  • Develop technical illustrations
  • Provide DocOps support, contributing to one of our process teams

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to work from our Cork office three days per week
  • Education in English, Journalism, Technical Communications, Languages, Software & Hardware Engineering, Multimedia, or Science
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working closely with development and product management teams
  • Capacity to plan workload and multitask
  • Technical illustration skills in Photoshop and Illustrator or similar

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with topic-based writing, preferably DITA XML
  • Document control and revisioning in content management or version control systems
  • Technical aptitude, including scripting languages, APIs, and SQL
