Job Title: Assistant Manager

This is a senior role within our organisation, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our store. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you will play a key part in driving sales growth and customer satisfaction.

  • Supervise daily activities of team members to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain high-quality customer service at all times.
  • Delegate and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Induct and train new employees.
  • Communicate sales performance to management.
  • Recruit high-calibre team members.
  • Manage team members' performance.
  • Provide quality products to customers by adhering to company standards.
  • Merchandise stores in a customer-friendly manner.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained at an optimum level.
  • Coordinate in-store sales and promotions.
  • Communicate with team members regarding promotions.
  • Adhere to cash register and cash handling policy.
  • React to local market trends and competition.
  • Deal with customer complaints effectively.
  • Improve store procedures following customer complaints.
  • Assist in preparations for stock take.
  • Minimise stock loss through wastage, damages, and pilferage.
  • Adhere to food management and waste systems.
  • Check stock levels to ensure adequate supply.
  • Rotate stock to maintain in-date stock and reduce waste.
  • Secure opening and closing procedures with the store manager.
  • Assist in matters relating to staff management and compliance with Labour Law, HACCP, Health & Safety, and Consumer Legislation.
  • Identify and reduce potential hazards in the store.
  • Conduct and action Health & Safety checks with the Store Manager.

This role requires strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to motivate and develop their team, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a positive work environment.
