
Young People Residential Care Professional

This role presents an opportunity for experienced professionals to contribute to a trauma-informed service in Limerick, delivering care for young people aged 13-17.
The team fosters positive attachments through relationship building and provides a therapeutic environment.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver holistic, trauma-informed care, focusing on engagement and rapport-building with the young people.
Key responsibilities include centre management, staff supervision, health & safety, and ensuring care and placement plans are implemented and monitored regularly.
- Create a safe, caring environment for young people.
- Promote young people's rights and responsibilities.
- Participate in ongoing planning and strategic development for residential centres.
- Manage resources effectively within the centre.
- Consult with young people, families, staff, and external stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain the centre, its equipment, and vehicles.
- Recruit, select, and appoint centre staff.
- Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with children/young people.
- Use physical intervention and restraint according to local policies and procedures.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Regional Manager, your duties include coordinating the duty roster and allocating staff resources, participating in professional development and training programs, and complying with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications5 years' experience in a Social Care Grade in a children's residential centre.
Registration in the Social Care Workers Register or eligibility for registration.
Requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of duties.
