Production Manager Job Description

This key position is a crucial part of the organization, overseeing department supervisors and support staff to achieve top-notch safety, quality, and production results.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate direct reports to foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing throughout the company.
  • Collaborate with other manufacturing operations management staff and customers to ensure quality commitments are met.
  • Ensure products are delivered to customers on time, meeting product quality, yield, operating costs, and process efficiencies.
  • Evaluate and sign off production records before sending them to the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Work with maintenance teams to identify and address potential issues and implement process improvements.
  • Guarantee that necessary validations are performed, and processes and systems meet specified requirements.
  • Manage area of responsibility to ensure GMP and GDP requirements are met and adhered to.
  • Maintain adherence to all environmental health and safety SOPs and equipment policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a manufacturing strategy aligned with the plant's strategic plan.
  • Reduce manufacturing costs through the VIP programme, ensuring current and future budgeted costs are achieved.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A third-level qualification is required.
  • Leadership and people management experience is essential.
  • Management experience in a GMP facility is necessary.
  • Financial and budget reporting experience is required.
