As a highly skilled Marine Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing outboard and inboard marine engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of diesel engines, outboard motors, and inboard propulsion systems.
  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on vessels.
  • Conduct engine overhauls, cooling system flushes, and fuel system servicing as required.
  • Install and test new mechanical components, propellers, and related marine equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain accurate service records, parts inventories, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maritime regulations during all repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with ship crews and supervisors to plan and prioritize work effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar position.
  • A Marine Engineering or Mechanical diploma/certificate is essential.
  • Diesel engine and outboard motor training is highly regarded.
  • Manufacturer certifications are desirable.
  • Basic welding and electrical skills are necessary.
