Linux Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineer to design and build infrastructure for our trading platforms.

  • We collaborate closely with network engineers and software developers to create scalable systems that meet the demands of high performance and scalability using cutting-edge hardware.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux and experience with kernel-level and I/O subsystem tweaks, as well as automation tools such as Python or other tools.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Design and Build Infrastructure:
      • Contribute to our library of home-grown tools written primarily in Python and Bash.
      • Use tools such as Jenkins to automate bare-metal and virtual server deployments, monitoring, and maintenance.
    • Optimize and Evolve:
      • Tune operating systems for performance and network stacks for bandwidth or latency.
      • Dive deep on root-cause analysis of systems issues.
    • Innovate and Collaborate:
      • Work closely with Strategy Developers and Quantitative Researchers to understand business problems.
      • Coordinate with network and storage teams to implement scalable solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience building Linux based platforms.
  • Familiarity with kernel-level and I/O subsystem tweaks and tools such as sysctl, strace, tcpdump, and netstat.
  • Recent hands-on experience with automation in Python or other tools.
