Job Description

Role:Co-National Specialty Director Palliative Medicine - Higher Specialist Training


Affiliation:Institute of Medicine


Department/Function:Palliative Medicine


Tenure of office:3 Years (time commitment - varies depending on specialty/number of trainees)


  • Lead the development and delivery of postgraduate specialist training in the defined specialty.
  • Chair the Specialty Training Committee (STC) with a minimum of three minute meetings per year.


Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities include:


  • Developing and delivering high-quality postgraduate specialist training programmes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop strategic plans.
  • Leading the Specialty Training Committee (STC) to ensure effective governance and decision-making.
  • Managing relationships with healthcare providers, educators, and other stakeholders to advance the goals of the Institute of Medicine.
