Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Middleware Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the Web Platform Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of our web infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Support of middleware components including Tomcat, F5 (BIG-IP), Apache, and Java.
  • SME support for middleware infrastructure such as Tomcat, Websphere, F5 (BIG-IP), and Apache.
  • Deployment of new F5 AS3 vservers using Ansible.
  • Collaborate with Development & Application Support teams to discuss, analyze, or resolve application and usability issues.
  • Implement complex security integration utilizing MSSL, mutual authentication, hardware certificates, software certificates, dynamic endpoints, and other security models.
  • Participate in the application's environment shakedown testing and troubleshooting efforts as required.
  • Document Operations and configuration procedures to allow maintenance and repetition.
  • On-call rotational support.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Tomcat, Apache, Java, Websphere, DNS.
  • Intermediate knowledge of load balancers, F5 AS3, and web application firewalls.
  • Intermediate knowledge of network, DNS, and operating system principles.
  • Exposure to Pivotal Cloud Foundry is a plus.
  • Experience with automation using Chef, Ansible, and Jenkins.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
