Job Title: Breast Care SpecialistThe Breast Care Specialist plays a crucial role in the assessment, counseling, surveillance, and support of patients with malignant, benign breast disease, and a family risk of breast cancer.
**Responsibilities:**
  • To provide specialist knowledge, expertise, and care to breast care patients.
  • To offer advice and support recognising the possible differences in the psychosocial impact of a breast diagnosis.

The Liaison Nurse carries out a central role in the assessment, counselling, surveillance, and support of patients with malignant, benign breast disease, and a family risk of breast cancer. They work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop care pathways, implement best practice guidelines, and standards of care.Key areas of focus include:
  • Assessment and planning of patient care.
  • Implementation and evaluation of care plans.
  • Monitoring and ongoing assessment of patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Developing and participating in follow-up and results clinics.
  • Providing pre and post-operative counselling, fitting of prostheses, and pre and post-treatment care and support.
