
Compassionate Care Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Social Care Worker to join our dedicated team in a Nationwide Disability residential service. As a key member of the team, you will provide care and support to vulnerable adults and children with an Intellectual Disability/ABI/Autism.
Your primary objective will be to deliver person-centred care through a practical, physical, and emotional approach, meeting the needs of residents.
You will act as a key worker for named residents where appropriate, providing support with daily plans, individual goals, and living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and attending appointments.
As part of the on-floor duty team, you may also be responsible for coordinating shifts and supervising other staff under your direction.
You will report to the person in charge and work collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in service delivery to residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to residents through a person-centred approach.
- Act as a key worker for named residents where appropriate.
- Support residents with their daily plans and individual goals.
- Assist residents with living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and attending appointments.
Candidates must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
Knowledge of quality assurance practices and their application to service provision is essential.
Experience working in a residential, respite, or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability is required.
Knowledge of Person Centred Planning, clinical and human resource policies and procedures, and relevant legislation is necessary.
Knowledge of National Disability Standards (HIQA) is also required.
