Offshore Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Technical Specialist to join our team. As an Offshore Technical Specialist, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of offshore transmission infrastructure.

Your primary responsibility will be to act as the technical representative for EirGrid, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will oversee engineering design, construction, and commissioning phases, working closely with multiple stakeholders including developers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

  • Act as the technical authority for offshore grid connection projects.
  • Provide engineering oversight during project development, design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Review and assess offshore cable system design, installation methodologies, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of offshore substations, HVDC/HVAC transmission systems, and interconnectors.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will also be essential in this role.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Offshore Engineering (or a related field).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred (or working towards it).
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in offshore wind, transmission, or subsea cable engineering.
