Climate Adaptation Specialist

The successful candidate will lead a research project focused on enhancing the resilience of at-risk communities in Sub-Saharan Africa to climate impacts.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement an impact evaluation that includes a randomized controlled trial.
- Conduct research in the economics of climate adaptation and risk, including completing a research ethics application, participating in field work in Madagascar, providing research support and guidance to the team, and carrying out high-quality data analysis.
- Contribute to the writing of scientific papers and reports for international journals and progress reporting to other researchers and project funders.
- Assist with the coordination of research activities and actively contribute to research outputs to meet project milestones.
- PhD in Economics or related field (candidates awaiting viva prior to start date considered).
- Advanced quantitative methodological knowledge and/or experience, particularly in causal inference.
- Thematic focus on development, ideally with experience working on climate adaptation and risk among vulnerable communities.
- Record of publishing in high-quality journals and excellent writing and communication skills in English.
- Field research experience or willingness to do field research.
- Experience with RCTs, GIS software, large-scale climate or environmental data, and inter-disciplinary research.
- Ability to speak French.
