Job Description

As a medical scientist in the microbiology department, you will be responsible for reporting to the chief medical scientist and observing strict confidentiality when dealing with patient information.

The successful candidate will perform scientific procedures to the highest professional standard and participate in training and supervision of new staff and students as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Applicants must have statutory registration on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU. The successful candidate must also have a high standard of suitability and professional ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Annual registration on the Medical Scientists Register is mandatory, and practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
