Job Summary

Role Overview

This strategic planning professional will play a key role in implementing programs of work in the planning department. Responsibilities will be diverse and may include:

  • Development management
  • Building control
  • Planning enforcement
  • Economic development
  • Forward planning and sustainable development
  • Community development

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess planning applications and provide recommendations based on national, regional, and local plans/policies.
  • Provide planning advice to members of the public, internal departments, and elected members.
  • Liaise with neighboring planning authorities and other public authorities.
  • Monitor and report on implementation progress.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Hold a qualification in planning (at least level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
  • Have at least five years satisfactory relevant experience of planning work.
  • Possess a high standard of technical training and expertise.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of planning principles.
