Operational Risk Manager

This is a key leadership role in our organization, responsible for driving the implementation and enhancement of our Operational Risk Management framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of operational risks and controls within business and support functions.
  • Evaluate and classify ICT-related incidents according to established materiality thresholds and reporting timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement effective incident logging and escalation procedures.
  • Track and analyze risk incidents, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to relevant parties.
  • Contribute to regular risk reviews, assessments, and reporting activities.
Business Continuity and Resilience:
  • Conduct thorough criticality assessments for business services, shared services, and internal processing services.
  • Establish and validate impact tolerance thresholds for critical and important business services, aligning with regulatory requirements.
  • Map dependencies across people, processes, technology, and third-party providers to inform resilience planning and regulatory reporting.
  • Support resilience exercises, including scenario testing, impact analysis, and recovery strategy evaluations.
Programme Implementation & Monitoring:
  • Serve as a liaison between the Operational Risk Management team and business & support functions.
  • Engage with business operations, support, and IT departments to identify and capture critical business processes and services.
  • Provide expertise for training, awareness, and communication initiatives related to operational risk management.
  • Monitor and report on the status of risk and resilience initiatives locally.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 8-10 years' experience working in or with Operational Risk Management, preferably with knowledge of Fund Administration.
  • Post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, law, economics, business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in risk or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements for risk management and BCP.
  • Experience with risk assessment techniques, business impact analysis, and BCP planning and testing.
  • Ability to work with complex datasets and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Project management skills and ability to analyze project progress and direct team efforts.
  • Advanced ability with Excel and experience with new systems / technology is preferred.
