Operational Risk Specialist 12 Months FTC
The role involves proactively identifying and assessing operational risks to the business, monitoring risk management, and addressing unacceptable risk gaps through collaboration with management to develop action plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust Operational Risk Framework in line with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides proactive support to local management and Group in respect of building and maintaining a sound risk framework
- Assists in delivering the annual Group Operational Risk minimum requirements including loss data collection, risk identification, assessment, and quantification, risk monitoring, and reporting
- Controls and supervises the loss data collection process
- Coordinates operational risk management activity with all functions across the business
- Quantifies/modeling the operational risks and integrates them into the local Short Term Economic Capital (STEC) charge
- Assists in producing reports for the Local Forum/Committee
- Participates in operational work-streams as required
- Attends the quarterly management Risk Forum and delivers updates as required
- Contributes to a good working relationship with AXA Group
- Actively participates in projects as required
Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years' experience in an insurance business environment, ideally with some exposure to compliance/regulatory matters and knowledge of key processes, structures, and controls within the Company.
Previous exposure to audit-related work is preferred.
Operational Risk Qualification (Institute of Risk Management or equivalent).
ACOI Diploma in Risk Management, Internal Audit & Compliance or ACOI Professional Certificate in Compliance.
APA, CIP or MDI Insurance qualification is desirable.
Skills and Attributes:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven, with exceptional PC skills including spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
Enthusiastic with a high level of energy and a flexible work attitude, capable of meeting strict deadlines.
Strong knowledge of key processes, structures, and controls within the company.
Previous experience in Risk, Compliance, Internal Controls, or Audit environments.
Ability to foster a collaborative team environment and inspire confidence across all levels of the business.
Excellent leadership, time management, organizational, and planning skills, with a keen attention to detail.
