Job Title: R&D Test Engineer

We are seeking a skilled R&D test engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering and experience in R&D testing.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our clients test facilities, rotating between each facility to become familiar with all aspects of testing. This includes testing, data acquisition, processing, analysis, and reporting of results, identifying and timely reporting of problems, and working as part of the wider engineering team to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop automated data processing and analysis tools using programming languages such as Python and MATLAB.
  • Manage test units and testing within area of responsibility, including direct interaction with test units on a daily basis to set-up and run tests on units.
  • Analyze test results and report same to the test team and wider engineering team.
  • Document and report test issues (FRACAS) originating from Test Units in R&D Test facilities.
  • Identify and drive ongoing development of the test facility and processes, including responsibility for facility, instrumentation & data acquisition system improvement and upgrade.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Science.
  • At least 2-4 years experience in a similar R&D testing or complimentary mechanical, electrical, controls or data analytics/data science role.
  • Experience using MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Familiarity with HIL systems.
  • Key Competencies: ability and knowledge of data analytics or data science, coding (Python/R) and MATLAB and SIMULINK.
