Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to fill the role of R&D Technician.

  • This position requires constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing, and maintaining equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for performing lead or support roles in device test planning, management, and execution.
  • Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in a prescribed format.
  • Perform lead or support roles in appropriate root cause investigations and drive problem-solving efforts.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and source replacements as directed; prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Lead or support Engineering Build Requests, inventory management, and build management for the project.
  • Assist in creating R&D prototypes as required.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified individual with a diploma level (Level 7 NFQ minimum) in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline. Preferably, candidates should have 1-2 years of relevant experience in an operations or laboratory medical device or related environment.

  • A dynamic team player who can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams.
  • Experience/understanding of test methods, test reports, and use of test equipment is desirable.
  • Experience/understanding of managing R&D build requests, inventory management, and build management.
  • Candidates must be focused on patient safety and customer service, set high standards, instill operational excellence, drive accountability, and model ethical behavior.
