This is a strategic opportunity in a business that's going places. You will be at the forefront of our Building Surveying division, setting the pace and standards for everything we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting directors in delivering objectives;
  • Engaging with customers and developing customer relationships;
  • Delivering high quality services and ensuring building surveying deliverables meet customer requirements;
  • Managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, advice, and construction projects – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover;
  • Preparing planned maintenance programmes;
  • Agreeing with the Director and Client sub-consultants to assist with delivery of a commission;
  • Communicating with clients and project team members;
  • Ensuring quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue;
  • Remaining within your role and conducting additional responsibilities with approval of your line manager;
  • Leading teams working for you; ensuring they are correctly fulfilling project functions providing mentoring and coaching when required;
  • Preparing bids for services;
  • Managing service delivery for profit.
Key Requirements
  • Post MRICS qualification experience in building surveying;
  • Detailed knowledge of building surveying tasks;
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of procurement strategies;
  • Ability to administer contracts as Contracts Administrator and Employers Agent;
  • Understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts;
  • Ability to motivate others and lead high performance teams;
  • Clear and effective communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily;
  • ICT Skills, with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Competent at negotiating sufficient fees to complete services and generate required profit levels;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.
