Development Manager

Role Overview

The successful candidate will lead a team of scientists in the development and optimization of analytical methods, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee method development, validation, transfer, daily/weekly planning, and execution of experiments.
  • Provide technical support for drug development, process development, plant investigations, and regulatory activities.
  • Lead projects for new product introduction, including method assessment, development, validation, and transfer.
  • Supervise laboratory GMP/Safety and maintain the AD laboratory as an inspection-ready facility.
  • Coordinate with client, project management, manufacturing, QC, and PDS teams to share periodic updates on assigned projects.
  • Develop and drive competency within the AD group as a centre of excellence.
  • Manage team performance, create schedules, and provide feedback.
  • Participate in regulatory and customer audits.
Laboratory GMP Compliance
  • Ensure working knowledge of site and analytical SOPs.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and proforma testing sheets in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Perform calibration of equipment and analytical balances as required.
  • Validate/calibrate documentation associated with instrumentation before use.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards; perform laboratory housekeeping audits and self-inspections.
  • Complete assigned actions in a timely manner and report deficiencies.
Technical Support or Troubleshooting for Existing Products
  • Provide technical data/opinion to internal and external customers as needed.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings/teleconferences as appropriate.
