The role of Grid Engineer is crucial in supporting the renewable energy sector. This key position will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering services that are cost-effective and add value to the business.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver grid team projects efficiently, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Manage interactions with system operators, contractors, and stakeholders effectively.
- Coordinate project energisations, grid works, and grid code compliance testing for renewable energy projects.
- Develop optimal grid connection solutions through engineering processes.
- Ensure project compliance with grid code requirements by monitoring updates and applying relevant changes.
- Oversee technical projects throughout various phases of the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate timely information exchange among stakeholders for well-understood deliverables.
A strong candidate should have knowledge of electrical engineering and practical experience in managing connections to the Irish transmission system. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
Essential Qualifications- Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Strong technical background in HV electrical design and consenting for substations, underground cables, and overhead line infrastructure.
- Familiarity with project management, contract, and financial management processes related to electrical infrastructure.
