Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Nursing Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing management, leadership, and communication skills.

The role of the Senior Staff Nurse is multifaceted, encompassing staff supervision, delegation, and allocation of duties as necessary. Additionally, this position involves ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity, respect, and individualized care. The successful candidate must be able to maintain clear, concise, and accurate records within the home, adhere to established policies and procedures, and demonstrate knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. They will also have a sound decision-making ability, be able to motivate themselves and others, and work effectively on their own initiative. Results-driven individuals who can promote a team environment are highly sought after.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, lead, and manage staff, delegating and allocating duties as necessary.
  • Ensure that all residents are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect, and ensure they are treated as individuals.
  • Maintain clear, concise, and accurate records within the home in accordance with legislation and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all Mowlam Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals as necessary regarding resident discharge to the community to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • First level registration as a nurse.
  • Previous managerial training or experience is advantageous.
  • Registration on the NMBI live register.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Sound decision-making ability.
  • Able to motivate self and others and work on own initiative.
Additional Requirements:

This role requires maximum flexibility to work in the nursing home. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder periodically by the Home Manager.
