Job Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to fill a critical role within our dedicated Support Team.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling level 2 incidents related to Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
You will also implement and adjust configurations for IOS, IOS XE, and NX-OS platforms in accordance with best practices. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of our customers' networks.
Additional responsibilities include managing customer onboarding processes, accepting incident escalations, and collaborating with the team to develop processes and solutions that enhance the service provided to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incidents at a level 2 related to Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers
- Implement and adjust configurations for IOS, IOS XE, and NX-OS platforms in accordance with best practices
- Manage customer onboarding process (documentation review, health checks, liaise with 3rd parties, setup monitoring alerts)
- Accepting incident escalations
- Working with the team to develop processes and solutions that are able to enhance the service provided to our customers
Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff at client sites
- Quickly build strong relationships and gain client trust
- Work individually and as a part of a collaborative team
- Ability to follow established company procedures and methods
- Available to work out of hours / weekends if necessary
- Logical thinker
- Proven track record in trouble shooting and problem solving
- Ability to quickly learn new products and technologies
- Must be proactive
- Fluent in English
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a network engineer
- CCNP Enterprise certification
- Live experience in implementing and troubleshooting common network and security technologies e.g. Firewalls, authentication solutions, wireless, routing & switching etc.
- Palo Alto or Juniper experience would be advantageous
- Lead activity to investigate and mitigate security incidents and complete RCA reports
- Strong customer facing skills as customer face to face meetings will be required from time to time (virtual)
- Experience in reporting on day to day management of customer security and networking solutions and be able to be the 'technical expert' when attending customer meetings
- Review and recommend network security improvements for various customer environments
