Midwife Position

Description

This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care as a skilled Midwife. You will be responsible for monitoring the health of pregnant women and their unborn babies, providing antenatal care, and supporting expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy journey.

As a Midwife, you will also be involved in assisting during labour and delivery, ensuring the safety of mother and baby. Additionally, you will administer pain relief and conduct emergency procedures if necessary.

Your duties will include assessing and monitoring the progress of labour, providing immediate care to new-borns, and offering postnatal care. You will also maintain accurate and confidential records of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the health of pregnant women and their unborn babies during pregnancy.
  • Provide antenatal care, including health education and screening tests.
  • Assist during labour and delivery, ensuring the safety of mother and baby.
  • Administer pain relief and conduct emergency procedures if necessary.
  • Assess and monitor the progress of labour.
  • Provide immediate care to new-borns, including initial assessments and breastfeeding support.
  • Offer postnatal care, including monitoring recovery and mental health.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered with the NMBI.
  • A minimum of 12 months experience as a Midwife.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Valid eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Driver's licence is advantageous.
