NPD Food Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative NPD Food Technologist to join our product development team.

This role involves working closely with the product development team to create new and improved food products that meet customer expectations and are commercially viable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and introduce new and improved food products
  • Create recipes and reformulate existing products to meet customer requirements
  • Conduct nutritional testing to ensure products meet retailer policies and nutritional claims
  • Cooking instruction development for new products
  • Coordinate new product transfer from NPD to production ownership
  • Maintain and update allergen information and risk assessment

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant food science subject, such as food science or nutrition
  • Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene or ability to complete within six months
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Excel and Word
  • 1-3 years experience in new product development process
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing technologies, R&D and industry guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams
