Job Role

The Financial Controller will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to the senior management team at Paul Byron, a thriving retail business.


Main Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing day-to-day finance operations, ensuring efficient payment of suppliers and preparation of accounts for auditors.
  • Monitoring and reporting on operations and performance using monthly dashboards and weekly KPIs.
  • Implementing automated systems to replace manual processes and improving current reports.
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flows, as well as managing labour budget and planning.
  • Driving quarter-end process, ensuring Balance Sheet accounts are clean, and identifying issues for resolution.
  • Delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis to assist in understanding trends and driving financial performance improvement opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum 5 years post-qualification experience as a Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or similar qualifications), as well as strong knowledge of local accounting standards, IFRS, and payroll calculation. Experience in group reporting for statutory purposes according to relevant deadlines is also required.
