Site Reliability Engineer Role Overview

About This Position

We are seeking a high-performing, experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, support, sales engineers, and solution architects to shape the future of Fivetran Data Platform's reliability.

This is a full-time position based in Dublin. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure Infrastructure Reliability: Monitor availability, capacity, and throughput of Fivetran's production infrastructure to ensure ongoing robustness.
  • Drive Reliability into Product Roadmap: Evolve existing systems and processes to drive reliability into the product roadmap.
  • Partner with Teams: Collaborate with engineering, support, and sales to prioritize and resolve critical bugs and incidents.
  • Recommend Improvements: Recommend infrastructure improvements to ensure optimal availability and performance.
  • Automate Deployments: Automate scalable artifact deployments across all environments.
  • Monitor Vulnerabilities: Monitor and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities in collaboration with the security team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Kubernetes: EKS, AKS, GKE (managed services)
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Buildkite, ArgoCD
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, plus other major databases
  • Programming Languages: Go, Java
  • Scripting: TypeScript, Python, Shell
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Pulumi
  • API Frameworks: FastAPI (RESTful APIs)
  • Cloud Networking: PrivateLinks (AWS, Azure), Private Service Connect (GCP), site-to-site VPNs across major cloud providers
  • Monitoring & Observability: Grafana
