Job Title

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and leading building automation projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance and act as a part of the leadership team for a project team of 25 engineers, identify and assign tasks within the project team, assist with change order generation by estimating hardware costs and the engineering effort required for changes in project scope.
  • Instrumentation & Electrical Design: Create instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings, evaluate instrumentation (temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meter, valve actuators, etc...) and select devices appropriate for the project, evaluate and select controls hardware appropriate for the project, compile submittal documentation for controls and instrument hardware.
  • System Design and Configuration: Lead customer design review meetings, configure user interface and HMI screens, configure DDC, PLC and/or DCS control algorithms, execute internal functional and quality control testing.
  • Onsite System Startup: Install project software and configuration onto site systems, participate in point to point loop checks for all instrumentation, perform software calibration and tuning, conduct functional tests of all systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field or related Technical Degree, 8+ years of experience in related field/industry, controls experience in at least one of the following: Rockwell FactoryTalk Suite, RS Logix/Studio 5000, Aveva System Platform, Inductive Ignition Perspective, Distech BACnet and LON Distech controllers, Eclypse Controllers, Johnson Controls Facility Explorer or Metasys controllers, Tridium Niagara N4, SQL, scripting languages (VBA, Python, etc.), knowledge of Kepware OPC server, ThinManager, VMware preferred.
  • HVAC Experience/Knowledge: basic understanding of HVAC systems in large building automation systems, understanding of sequence of operations and P&IDs for HVAC and plant utilities, experience with functional testing, including the ability to create, maintain, and execute test plans, experience with specifying instrumentation and control valves for HVAC systems.
