Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist

The role involves extracting and analyzing large-scale data from cloud billing platforms to create automated dashboards that provide real-time visibility into costs for technical and financial stakeholders.

Fulfilling additional duties as required to support business needs, you will be responsible for managing commitments such as reserved instances and spot instances in coordination with infrastructure and cloud vendors.

  • Expertise in public clouds, preferably AWS, is essential for this position.
  • A strong understanding of financial planning principles and technical proficiency are also necessary.

This position requires a team player who can work closely with internal teams on cost transparency, usage optimization approaches, and cost estimation for new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Extract and analyze large-scale data from cloud billing platforms.
  2. Create automated dashboards that provide real-time visibility into costs.
  3. Manage commitments such as reserved instances and spot instances.
  4. Support continuous improvement of self-service spend analytics.
  5. Monitor and analyze cost controls for cloud expenditures.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in data analysis and data science practices.
  • Strong financial planning skills, capable of preparing dashboards and reports.
  • Technical proficiency, including scripting skills for task automation.
  • Prior experience with cloud dashboards and reservation management.
