
Mechanical Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of the maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all plant equipment and machinery.
The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with experience in servicing and repairing a wide range of machinery. You will also possess excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to multitask.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime
- Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimum performance
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety reviews
- Adhere to health & safety procedures and regulations at all times
- Respond promptly to breakdowns
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
Requirements:
- A trades qualification: Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification required
- Additional mechanical or engineering certifications are a plus
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally in a food processing or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge – ability to service and repair a wide range of machinery
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
