Fleet Administrator Job Description

The Fleet Administrator plays a pivotal role in the efficient management of the company's fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate daily operations, including vehicle allocation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for routine maintenance and inspections to guarantee fleet readiness.
  3. Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, registrations, and other pertinent information.
  4. Liaise with external vendors to secure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
  5. Stay informed on federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to fleet operations and ensure compliance.
  6. Monitor fuel usage and implement strategies to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce costs.
  7. In collaboration with the safety team, coordinate driver training programs to ensure safe and responsible operation of fleet vehicles.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fleet management or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, technicians, vendors, and management.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Fleetio & Samsara, Microsoft Excel, and other office productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fleet operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOT compliance preferred.
