Portfolio Director is a leadership position within an organization, responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and operational management of a team of professionals delivering Salesforce-based solutions. The role demands effective governance, team capability, and resource planning across diverse client projects.

This high-impact position drives continuous improvement in delivery operations, ensuring the portfolio is well-resourced, efficiently executed, and aligned with business objectives. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of Project Directors, Engagement Managers, and Consultants, providing strategic oversight and guidance across delivery activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication and stakeholder abilities, data-driven decision-making, and risk management skills. A deep knowledge of Salesforce project lifecycles, methodologies, and delivery models is essential. Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence, and matrix organizations is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Project Directors, Engagement Managers, and Consultants, providing strategic oversight and guidance across delivery activities.
  • Support team growth and performance through mentoring, coaching, and development planning.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage personal development, appraisals, and career progression for the Engagement Management team.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance delivery maturity, scalability, and consistent outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on people strategy, portfolio reporting, and stakeholder communication.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years managing Salesforce project delivery in professional services or similar environments.
  • 3+ years leading teams or portfolios, responsible for people, governance, and resourcing.
  • Proven ability to manage complex portfolios balancing strategy and operations.
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce project lifecycles, methodologies, and delivery models.
  • Salesforce certifications preferred.
  • Data-driven decision-making and risk management skills.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to new technologies.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence, and matrix organizations.
