Software Support Engineer

Key Role in Operation and Optimisation of Vital Business Systems.

The Software Support Engineer plays a pivotal part in the operation and optimisation of critical business systems within the highly regulated life sciences environment. This position requires an experienced software engineer to join our team, working in a hybrid role with key clients within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector in Cork.

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing, continuously improving, and supporting essential software applications and tools. This includes maintaining and optimising existing systems to improve performance and reliability, ensuring high availability and compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for software related issues in the manufacturing facility, working with Level 2 and 3 applications.
  • Taking the lead on specific daily work activities of the team including customer incidents and change requests, along with system and data issues.
  • Collaboration with external vendors, cross-functional teams including scientists, engineers, and IT, is essential to understand requirements and implement system improvements.
  • Translating business requirements into low-level technical requirements, documenting deviations and change controls, and developing comprehensive documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on your own initiative and collaborate effectively with business teams and third parties.
