This position offers the opportunity to develop and analyze innovative composite technologies and products.

  • Top Level Design Responsibilities:
  • Developing top level design and system engineering for composite technologies and products;
  • Utilizing CAD software for modeling and design;
  • Creating FE models, performing analysis and optimization;
  • Establishing and improving design, analysis and optimization procedures;
  • Reporting and documentation;
  • Supporting design for manufacturing activities;
  • Participating in manufacturing of components;
  • Participating in testing of components;
  • Preparing business proposals;
  • Organizing research activities;
  • Interfacing with customers as part of projects or business development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering;
  • Between 2 to 6 years of relevant work experience;
  • Ability to work autonomously across multiple disciplines;
  • Affinity with fiber-reinforced composite materials and structures;
  • Knowledge of analytical and numerical design methods from conceptual design to detailed optimization methods;
  • Experience with FE model setup and analysis and optimization preferably of composites;
  • Experience with commercial FE tools (preferably FEMAP with NX/MSC Nastran);
  • Dynamic analysis including sine and random vibration;
  • CAD software experience preferably CATIA V5;
  • Affinity with manufacturing methods for composites;
  • Affinity with manufacturing processes for metals is an advantage;
  • Awareness of analysis and manufacturing methods advantages, disadvantages, and limitations;
  • Basic programming skills preferably in Python;
  • Experience of working with ECSS standards and requirements is advantageous;
  • Well organized and capable of organizing an efficient workflow;
  • Capable of working in an ambitious team with occasional peaks in workload;
  • Open-minded attitude with capability to challenge industry standards;
  • Personal initiative and thirst for improvement and developing new skills;
  • Willingness to travel for work;
  • Rudimentary sense of humor appreciated;
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken;
  • Ability to work and live in the EU.
