Environmental Leadership Opportunity

Our company is seeking an experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to play a critical leadership role in managing and delivering complex environmental projects, developing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to strategic growth.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the delivery of EIA, SEA, and other environmental assessments for infrastructure, energy, and planning projects.
  • Provide high-level technical input, peer review, and quality control of environmental reports and assessments.
  • Develop and manage client relationships, including business development and proposal preparation.
  • Act as Project Director or Technical Lead on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders on environmental issues.
  • Mentor and manage junior and mid-level consultants.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and operational growth of the environmental consultancy team in Ireland.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's or Chartered status desirable).
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in environmental consultancy, ideally within Ireland or the UK.
  • Demonstrated leadership in delivering complex EIA/SEA projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish and EU environmental legislation and planning processes.
  • Excellent project management and client relationship skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in winning work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Chartered Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIWEM, IEMA, IEEM).
  • Experience with climate change risk assessments, ESG advisory, or biodiversity net gain.
  • Network of contacts in relevant sectors (transport, energy, planning, etc.).
