Job Title: Senior Psychologist

The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychologist to join their team. As a Senior Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing expert psychological services to children and young people with intellectual disabilities, autism, and communication disorders.

Job Description:

This is a permanent full-time position working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young people, 0-18 years, and their families. The successful candidate will be employed by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland and will work closely with other professionals to provide assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions.

You will be responsible for working with children and young people who have complex needs arising from a disability, where those needs require the support of an interdisciplinary disability team. This may include children with intellectual, physical, sensory disability, autism, and children at risk of or query developmental delay.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert psychological services to children and young people with intellectual disabilities, autism, and communication disorders.
  • Working as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and young people.
Requirements:
  • A university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject.
  • An Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology OR an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
  • At least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology.
  • A driving license and means of transport which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads.
