Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our dynamic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at a prestigious hospital.
About the Role:- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the multidisciplinary CAMHS team, providing expert psychiatric care, and working closely with families, schools, GPs, and community-based services to deliver holistic and integrated care.
- Clinical governance, service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives will also be key aspects of this position.
- Direct psychiatric care including outpatient consultations, risk assessments, crisis intervention, and inpatient care as needed.
- Supervise and train NCHDs, allied health professionals, and medical students.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required by the service.
- Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in the Specialist Division – Psychiatry.
- Previous experience in CAMHS or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is highly desirable.
- MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualification is essential.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are crucial for success in this role.
Dream candidates should possess higher specialist training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, experience in service development, and a passion for teaching or clinical research.
