The Director of Procurement will lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies to meet business needs.

This individual will work closely with stakeholders to align category priorities with procurement management and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead negotiations and supplier management activities for assigned categories.
  • Drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and efficiency savings from category management activities.
  • Represent Procurement by participating in organizational decisions in assigned categories.
  • Lead category activities to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions in consultation with legal departments aligned with business requirements.
  • Manage a team of professionals responsible for performing category management tasks.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus progressive experience in procurement, preferably including substantial experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of efficient procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams to drive results in assigned categories through effective sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience working in a matrixed global organization while driving local priorities within a global framework.
  • Experience leading manager-level professionals in a multinational firm including writing performance reviews, setting annual objectives, coaching, and developing direct reports.
  • Working knowledge with sourcing contracting tools, ERP's, and e RFx systems preferred.
