Empowering Authentication

We serve over a billion active users through Microsoft services, powering almost every product and platform. As part of the Core Authentication team, we are responsible for the authentication service serving users and devices everywhere, securing access to applications and services.

Your Role

We seek an experienced software engineer with deep technical expertise in building highly scalable and distributed systems to join our team. You will work hands-on on a core service serving billions monthly, drawing on your experience to support the team. Your contributions will shape the engineering culture, and you'll collaborate in a hybrid environment, embracing a live site-first mentality required to run critical services at hyper-scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, develop designs, coach, and review technical designs across the organization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive improvements across multiple teams and geographies.
  • Design, develop, and scale distributed software services, troubleshooting automation, reliability, and monitoring for production services.
  • Develop 'best-in-class' engineering by ensuring services and components are secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored, and reusable.
  • Gain a working understanding of businesses, collaborating with leaders to contribute to cohesive experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field, with hands-on experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet security screening requirements, including background checks.
