The role of a Support Worker at Camphill is to provide care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to live and participate in their community. This position requires a high degree of understanding and commitment to the residents, prioritizing their welfare and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include advocacy and rights, person-centred support for living, management and leadership, and managing household finances. The ideal candidate will be highly responsible, reliable, and competent in household management.
Responsibilities- Advocacy & Rights

- Person Centred Support for Living
- Ensure a person-centred approach to service delivery.
- Support independent living skills.
- Act as a Key Worker.
- Develop person-centred plans.
- Coordinate medical appointments.
- Implement training and leisure activities.
- Facilitate participation in the community.
- Adhere to behaviour support plans.
- Foster self-help and social skills.
- Provide physical and personal care supports.
- Facilitate participation in recreational activities.
- Coordinate house-to-work transitions.
- Liaise with Day Services Coordinator.
- Achieve competency in driving assigned transport.
- Maintain agreed housing standards.
- Promote prudent management of personal finances.
- Support religious and pastoral needs.
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Assist in day-to-day running of the household.
- Maintain buildings and raise issues as needed.
- Management and Leadership
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Keep accurate records.
- Report concerns promptly.
- Support physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Coordinate house staffing.
- Supervise induction and training.
- Contribute to quality support for vulnerable adults.
- Utilize transport services as needed.
- Money and Budgets
- Account for petty cash and personal monies.
- Maintain petty cash float and balance accounts.
- Record goods and services used.
- Manage house accounts and balance records.
- Submit end-of-month financials.
- Hold a minimum of Level 7 on the QQI Framework – BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent qualification.
- Be CORU registered or provide proof of application in progress.
- Have 1 year of experience working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Understand current policy developments in social care within disability services.
- Be able to follow and contribute to ongoing needs of individuals supported.
- Have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess Proficient IT skills relevant to the role.
- Hold a full driver's licence and have access to a car.

Salary Scale: €36,379 - €52,445 per annum (based on a 40 hour week)
Location: Dunshane, Brannockstown, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 XV 5T
Duration: Full-time, 40 hours per week
