Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in the field of urology. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients with urological conditions.

This full-time permanent position offers a challenging and rewarding role, providing expert clinical care, emotional support, education, and care coordination across the continuum of care.

The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma/Degree in Nursing, be fully registered with the relevant regulatory body, have rights to work in Ireland without sponsorship, and hold a Postgraduate course in Urology. Additionally, they will have at least 3.5 years of postgraduate experience in an acute hospital setting and current or recent experience working in urology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of patients with urological conditions, including malignancies, as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Provide specialist nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Serve as a keyworker for patients, offering continuity and coordination throughout their treatment journey.
  • Attend and contribute to urology outpatient clinics, including PSA clinics and diagnostic consultations.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient pathways and timely interventions.
Patient Support & Advocacy:
  • Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families/carers.
  • Advocate for patients, helping them understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Provide information on available resources, including palliative care and community services.
Quality & Audit:
  • Participate in clinical audits and service evaluations to improve care delivery.
  • Contribute to research initiatives and quality improvement projects.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data entry into relevant systems.
