Electrical Estimator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing enquiry schedules, evaluating quotations and preparing BOQs for scopes of projects.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant third-level degree and/or trade background, with a minimum of five years experience in an electrical contracting environment. They will be a team player with a genuine passion for employee development and the ability to build projects from start to finish working closely with engineering, procurement & operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce enquiry schedules for scope of works and packages required from tender documentation, drawings and specifications issued.
  • Evaluate returned quotations from suppliers and enter into correspondence with suppliers to bring quotations in line with project specification requirements.
  • Prepare BOQs for scopes of projects on estimating programs such as Excel, Causeway, CCS Candy & Kubus.
  • Input to project risk register and attend project risk meetings.
  • Tender price settlement and tender handover meetings.
  • Make tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tenders.
  • Provide supports and respond to tender queries made by project team personnel.
  • Liaise with Business Development personnel and key tendering department personnel re tender upload and submission.
  • Tender on a variety of HV/MV/LV large-scale projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an electrical contracting environment essential.
  • A relevant third level degree and/or trade background.
  • Minimum of five years experience in a similar role.
  • Team player with a genuine passion for employee development.
  • Ability to build project from start working closely with engineering, procurement & operational teams.

Package: €50K-€75K dependent on experience and qualifications
