Youth Care Specialist

The Care Manager is responsible for providing care and managing staff to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of young people residing in a residential care setting.
This role contributes to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and systems related to all aspects of residential care operations.
Main Responsibilities:- Care Delivery: Ensure the safety, professionalism, and maximized potential of all children and young people in residential care services.
- Staff Management: Safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of all staff employed in residential care settings.
- Direct Support: Support, supervise, and guide caregivers and support workers under your supervision.
- Environment Management: Maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe living environment for residents.
- Team Leadership: Lead a cohesive, focused, and effective team in delivering high-quality services that comply with regulations and standards.
- Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care, meeting the criteria to be registered with CORU.
- Enrollment or completion of a management qualification suitable for a health or social care setting, plus 4 years of full-time work experience in a residential care setting post-qualification.
- Desirable Competencies:
- Full, clean Garda vetting for Ireland and police clearance for any other country where the post-holder has resided for more than 6 months.
- Sound knowledge of professional childcare practice and detailed knowledge of National Standards for Residential Childcare.
