Job Title: Senior Credit Risk Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the credit control function and ensuring the efficient and effective collection of outstanding debts from customers.

You will develop and implement credit control strategies and policies, monitor the creditworthiness of customers, and make decisions regarding credit limits and payment terms. Additionally, you will analyze and report on the credit control function, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Credit Control Team: Provide guidance, support, and leadership to the credit control team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and tools to perform their duties effectively.
  • Credit Control Strategies: Develop and implement credit control strategies and policies to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
  • Credit Risk Assessment: Monitor the creditworthiness of customers and make informed decisions regarding credit limits and payment terms.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve credit control issues and escalate them when necessary.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze and report on the credit control function, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant credit control regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferably)
  • Work Experience: Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Debt Collector, or in a related role
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of credit management and collection procedures, excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult conversations
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel)
