About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for supervising various accounting activities to ensure that financial resources are managed in accordance with accounting principles and relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage various accounting activities, including financial analysis and reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and asset accounting.
  • Responsible for setting standard costs for products, including long-range planning and presentation to senior management.
  • Ensure month-end reporting is carried out efficiently and in line with agreed timetables.
  • Assist the controller in preparing plans and forecasts, including submission of profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Provide business analyst support to manufacturing departments to assist in achieving goals and cost reduction projects.
  • Develop and implement standard work processes, visual management boards, and other lean processes within finance.
  • Manage fixed assets, including tracking, reporting, physical inventory, and controlling.
  • Develop schedules for internal audits and oversee completion to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Review requests for capital expenditure and project expenses, and report on a monthly basis.
  • E nsure environmental health and safety standards are met, and all EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional qualification in accountancy and/or degree in accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 2-4 years' experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to present to executive management.
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office. SAP is a distinct advantage.
