Instrumentation Design Expert

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Design Expert to join our dynamic team in Dublin.

  • Lead various stages of design from concept to completion.
  • Analysing complex engineering problems and offering effective solutions.
  • Mentoring Instrumentation engineering staff at junior and intermediate levels, as required.
  • Checking other Instrumentation engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertaking peer reviews.
  • Extensive and independent contact with clients, vendor's representatives and project field personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and development of instrumentation systems.
  • Project execution, budget control, resource planning and change management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
  • A strong ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection and business.
Requirements:
  • Third Level Degree in Instrumentation Engineering (NFQ Level 8) or similar discipline.
  • 10+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design.
  • Demonstrable advanced experience in the complete suite of Instrumentation engineering design services including (but not limited to): Instrument Index, I/O Lists/ Allocation, Instrument Specifications/ Data Sheets, Layouts, Cable Containment, Block Diagrams, System Architecture, ATEX / Hazardous Areas.
  • Proficient in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) & digital project delivery is an advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of all applicable Instrumentation engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices.
  • Commercially aware and have the ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are implemented to provide cost-effective solutions for our clients.
