Job Title: Senior Instrumentation Specialist

Job Summary:

This position involves specifying and procuring process & BMS field instrumentation, developing I/O lists and instrument indexes, designing control systems, schematics, and drawings in various industries.

The ideal candidate will have a third-level degree in a relevant I&C Engineering discipline, with 5-7 years of experience in delivering industrial projects. They should be able to work effectively with automation contractors, communicate complex ideas, and adhere to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specifying and procurement of process & BMS field instrumentation
  • Development of I/O lists and instrument indexes
  • Designing of control systems, schematics, and drawings
  • Development of instrument datasheets from concept through procurement
  • Participation in HAZOPs, ATEX reviews, SIL assessments, and Interlock reviews
  • Review and input into P&IDs
  • Development of Functional Specifications (FS) and User Requirements Specifications (URS)
  • Development of system architecture for new Control Systems
  • Collaboration with automation contractors in developing solutions/systems
  • Ensuring adherence to GAMP5 lifecycle and 21CFR Part 11 Compliance
  • Establishing automation and controls systems scope of work
  • On-site work, dealing with clients/electrical contractors
  • Attendance at site meetings, construction, and commissioning support
  • Estimating values of completed works and approximate values of additional works
  • Preparation of snag lists (of installed works)
  • Working with bus technology and familiarity with DCS/PCS, BMS, and PLC systems
