Hydrology Expert

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality technical reports to support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments, including methodologies and relevant software expertise.
  • Design and manage environmental sampling and monitoring programs to gather data on groundwater and surface water quality.
  • Oversee fieldwork, including trial pitting, peat probing, and geophysical surveys, to inform hydrological studies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, supporting their professional development and contributing to the growth of our team.
  • Represent our business as an expert witness in legal proceedings or oral hearings, applying your knowledge of hydrology and related environmental consultancy.
  • Lead or contribute to responses to tenders and proposal development, using your expertise to drive project success.

About You:

  • A degree qualification in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in Hydrology is highly desirable.
  • At least 4 years' (Senior) or 8 years' (Principal) experience in hydrology or related environmental consultancy.
  • Proficiency in Flood Risk Assessment methodologies and relevant software.
  • Chartered (or working towards) status with a recognized professional body.
  • A strong understanding of environmental legislation and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience working on complex infrastructure or renewable energy projects is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • A full clean driving license.
