Job Title: EHS Process Safety Specialist

Work closely with the EHS Safety Manager and other technical managers/engineers to drive improvements in existing EHS management systems.

The Role:
  • Process safety, functional safety, process safety programs (HAZOPS, LOPA, etc.), and process safety KPIs.
  • Carry out activities and programs to ensure compliance with ATEX, High Risk Work programs, and local and corporate EHS process safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the site's ISO 45001 management system, including local and corporate EHS programs.
Duties:
  1. Lead EHS assessment and approval of all process and equipment changes in conjunction with Process Safety Protocols.
  2. Provide EHS support to ensure compliance with Lower Tier SEVESO and ATEX requirements.
  3. Guide Cork site operations to comply with health and safety legislation, IE Licensing, and ISO standards.
  4. Develop and implement EHS strategies in collaboration with the EHS team, operational managers, and functional managers.
  5. Act as an EHS business partner for core operations.
  6. Support digitization programs for EHS systems, including high-risk work and chemical management.
  7. Work closely with regulatory authorities and internal/external stakeholders.
  8. Lead audits and inspections, compile EHS metrics and KPIs, and analyze trends for corporate and site management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Process Safety, H&S, or a relevant engineering/science discipline.
  • Desirable experience with COMAH and chemical management systems.
  • Proven project and program management skills in large industry.
  • Expertise in H&S legislation and best practices in large-scale industry.
  • Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Able to prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines.

  • Deep understanding of H&S guidance, directives, and processes in regulated industry.
  • Mature judgment, decision-making skills, and high energy with a passion for EHS.
