Main Responsibilities:
  1. Production Management: Oversee all aspects of slaughter line operations, including carcass loading and chilling processes.
  2. Maintenance and Efficiency: Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure maximum uptime and implement plans for production efficiency.
  3. Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving: Foster a culture of root cause analysis and problem-solving among staff.
  4. Reporting and Compliance: Provide regular reports on activity, productivity, costs, and deviations from standards.
  5. Animal Welfare: Manage animal welfare from arrival to stunning, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  6. Customer and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure full compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  7. Slaughter Line Uptime: Actively manage slaughter line uptime, including execution of the Preventative Maintenance System.
  8. Raw Material Utilization: Ensure efficient utilization of raw materials.
  9. Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with regulatory representatives on-site to meet all legal and industry requirements for livestock processing.
Requirements:
  • Proven management experience in a livestock slaughter and processing facility.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and maintenance requirements.
  • Customer-focused approach to production and quality control.
  • Experience with lean management and process improvement techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong people management and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
  • Awareness of health, safety, and security responsibilities within the workplace.
  • Ability to train and develop staff.
